Gathering Input on a Strategy for England’s tourism future

In 2024, Visit England engaged Resonance to support their 2030 Visitor Economy Strategy through the coordination and facilitation of a series of country-wide engagement activities with industry groups. The primary purpose of the discussions was to identify participant opinions, aspirations and ideas for the future of tourism in England.

The objective was also to challenge and evolve England’s initial Strategy and Vision and deep-dive into seven strategic priorities: skills and careers, destination branding and marketing, business events, product and distribution, transport, infrastructure and investment and industry development. Resonance facilitated multiple roundtables and workshops with industry leaders from each of these areas of industry and identified new challenges and opportunities that would help develop the national visitor economy strategy.

Throughout the strategic engagement process, priorities, roles, and responsibilities were identified between Visit England, the 2 Destination Development Partnerships (DDP), and the 35 Local Visitor Economy Partnerships (LVEP). England’s 2030 Visitor Economy Strategy will drive sustainable growth for people and places and help the UK welcome 50 million international visitors per year by 2030.
