The Caribbean is a region shaped by every imaginable influence, and for tourism, 2015 was a banner year. International trips to the region grew by seven percent – the second straight year tourism grew faster than the global growth rate of international trips.
The Resonance 2016 Caribbean Tourism Quality Index ranks 28 destinations from a tourism development perspective to determine the supply-side performance and competitiveness of each destination, using Absolute and Indexed scales and thousands of traveler reviews from the world’s top social media sites like TripAdvisor. The study finds that while the destinations that attract the most visitors like the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Cuba offer the highest quantity of experiences, smaller destinations like Anguilla and Saint Martin offer better quality experiences.
