Trinidad & Tobago Tourism Strategy

Given its prime location in the Caribbean, the world’s most tourism-intensive region, Trinidad and Tobago is under no illusions as to Travel & Tourism’s importance. The industry currently represents 13.8% of total GDP and is expected to increase its share by nearly three percentage points to 16.5% by 2015. Nevertheless, this report prepared by Resonance Principal Richard Cutting-Miller for the World Travel & Tourism Council, in collaboration with the Tourism and Industrial Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago, highlighted several weaknesses that threaten to constrain this growth if not addressed.
